Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer who will be responsible for protecting our systems, networks, and data across cloud and on-premises environments. In addition to cybersecurity responsibilities, this role will also provide technical assistance to a small and dynamic team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Engineer (Primary Role)
• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor network activity for unusual behavior and investigate security breaches or potential incidents.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, and other security tools.
• Oversee access control and identity management across internal systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations and standards, such as NERC CIP, NIST CSF/RMF/SP-800 series, ISO/IEC 27001, ISA 62443, etc.
• Collaborate with internal teams and utility partners to ensure secure data exchange and system integration.
• Conduct employee cybersecurity training and awareness programs.
Technical Support (Secondary Role)
• Provide desktop and application support to internal users (Windows, macOS, Office 365, etc.).
• Set up and maintain employee workstations, software licenses, and user accounts.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and external IT partners as needed.
• Maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or technical roles.
• Working knowledge of network security, cloud security (preferably AWS or Azure), and common threat detection tools.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF/RMF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Experience providing technical support in a small to medium-sized organization.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities.
Preferred:
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
• Experience working with or for utility companies or grid-related technologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory environments in the U.S. energy sector (e.g., NERC CIP).
• Experience with secure software development practices or DevSecOps is a plus.
